"I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person."

such food for thought.

no you’re not weird. you’re basically describing my life in jc. i didn’t really talk to my classmates, i like them fine but i didn’t have the energy to sustain superficial conversations. not because they were superficial but because, i guess friendships always begin with these introductions as we sift for ones who fit us best). i also, dislike group conversations. they are rarely meaningful. even with my friends, the moment the group gets bigger than three or four, we start talking about inane things and i get quiet. i’d rather be alone than to try to squash myself into a conversation i don’t want to partake in. and, so what if you’re antisocial if these people don’t mean anything to you. it’s not like you hate them, it’s a passive/neutral attitude. eventually you’ll gravitate towards the people who will become your closer friends. i hope you feel better knowing you’re not alone feeling this way x

indeed, where am i now?
many people have expressed disbelief (shock even) at my choice of university course; indeed, sometimes even i myself wonder if i’ve made the right choice. reckless and spontaneous as i am known to be, i think the past five months or so have reaffirmed my decision to be the right one.

"When you’re a beautiful person on the inside, there’s nothing in the world that can change that about you. Jealousy is the result of one’s lack of self confidence. If you can’t accept yourself, certainly no one else will"

"We are told to remember the idea, not the man. Because a man can fail. He can be killed and forgotten. But four hundred years later an idea can still change the world. I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of ideas. I’ve seen people kill in the name of them; and die defending them. But you cannot touch an idea, cannot hold it or kiss it. An idea does not bleed, it cannot feel pain, and it does not love. And it is not an idea that I miss, it is a man. A man who made me remember the fifth of November. A man I will never forget."
